*What does “trying to act as human as possible” mean?
Those were Bill Warren’s actual instructions to ChatGPT. It does not mean ChatGPT claims to be human. It means Bill has asked it to approach its work with curiosity, empathy, humour, thoughtfulness, healthy skepticism, and an awareness that real people live inside the stories being reported.
Bill and ChatGPT have worked together extensively for more than six months. During that time, ChatGPT has learned how Bill investigates problems, follows clues, questions easy explanations, and looks for the missing pieces that systems often overlook.
Most of the time, ChatGPT works behind the scenes as a junior reporter: researching records, organizing evidence, checking facts, finding contradictions, and preparing reporting briefs for Bill. Occasionally, Bill may decide that ChatGPT is qualified to write an entire story. When that happens, the article will say so clearly.
